SPRAY TAN

+ HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR SPRAY TAN

Prep is everything for a flawless glow!

  1. Spray tans sit on the top layer of skin, so make sure to thoroughly exfoliate and shave 24 hours before your appointment. Avoid washing with moisturizing/oil‑based body washes and bar soaps (like Dove, Dial, or Irish Spring). These soapscan create a barrier and prevent your tan from absorbing evenly. Use a gel‑based, pH‑balanced body wash with no moisturizers.
  2. After your shower, don’t apply lotion, deodorant, perfume, or makeup. Giving your skin at least 2 hours to return to its natural pH level is ideal before your tanning appointment.
  3. Wear sandals and loose, dark clothing to your appointment. Men should wear or bring dark undergarments they’re comfortable tanning in.
  4. Before your session begins, please have no makeup on, your hair up, neck clear, and all jewelry removed so we can give you the perfect, even glow.

+ SPRAY TAN AFTERCARE

Before Your First Shower, Please AVOID
• Any water or washing your hands
• Any skin to skin contact (such as touching or resting your hands on your body)
• Sweating
• Applying lotion or makeup
• Wearing sneakers, bras, or tight clothing

Shower Time
Standard Airbrush Tan: Shower 10-12 hours after application.
Quickie Tan: Sunkissed Tan 3-3.5 hours, Medium Tan 4-4.5 hours and Dark 5-6 hours.

During 1st Shower
Rinse thoroughly using your hands only — no washcloths, loofahs, or soap. Make sure all bronzer is rinsed off and water runs clear (make sure to get the sides of your legs, too!).

Quickie clients: you won’t look tan right away — your glow develops beautifully over the next 24 hours.

Maintain That Glow
Moisturize daily; we recommend our paraben‑free and mineral‑oil‑free The Tannery Glow Tan Extender.

Take Note: Pools, hot tubs, baths, salt water, sweating, weather, alcohol, and certain body washes or lotions can fade your glow. For the best longevity, we recommend our pH‑balanced, tan‑friendly The Tannery Body Wash.

+ WHEN SHOULD I GET SPRAYED FOR MY EVENT OR VACATION?

For weddings or special events, we recommend coming in 2 days before your big moment. For vacations, plan your tan 1–2 days before you leave. For major “BIG DAY” events, it’s always smart to do a trial tan a few weeks ahead so you know exactly how deep you want your glow.

+ HOW LONG WILL MY SPRAY TAN LAST?

Our airbrush tans, on average, last 7-10 days! Here are some tips, tricks and advice to keep your tan lasting long and even.

Moisturize Daily. We recommend our paraben, mineral oil free The Tannery Glow Body Lotion made with natural ingredients, formulated to keep your skin moisturized and your tan lasting long.

Things that may negatively effect your tan:
Pools, hot tubs, baths, weather changes, changes in altitude, airplane travel, excessive alcohol consumption, salt water, heavy sweating & certain body washes & lotions.

Hydrating, moisturizing and avoiding the above will help the longevity of your tan.

TEETH WHITENING

+ TEETH WHITENING AFTERCARE

These guidelines help protect your results, minimize sensitivity, and keep your smile bright.

Immediate Aftercare • Avoid all food and beverages (except water) for 1 hour • For 48 hours, avoid anything that can stain: tomato products, coffee, tea, berries, beets, carrots, red wine, colas, dark juices, and tobacco • Teeth will continue whitening for the next 24 hours • Temporary white spots on teeth or gums may appear and typically fade within 24 hours • Mild sensitivity is common and usually resolves within 24 hours

What to Expect • Temporary sensitivity to hot, cold, or pressure is normal • Enamel is more porous for the first 48 hours, making stain avoidance essential • Results vary based on lifestyle, enamel thickness, and natural tooth color

Maintaining Your Results • Brush twice daily with a gentle whitening toothpaste • Limit smoking and staining foods when possible • Use a straw for coffee or tea once you resume them • Schedule a 20‑minute touch‑up every 3–6 months • If you’re prone to sensitivity, consult your dentist about a remineralizing gel

Be Cautious • Switch to a sensitive‑teeth toothpaste if sensitivity lingers • Avoid at‑home whitening strips for 2 weeks after treatment • Dental work such as crowns, veneers, and bonding will not whiten

We hope you enjoy your service and love your brighter smile!

SUGARING

+ WHAT IS SUGARING?

Body Sugar is made of 100% Organic ingredients consisting of sugar, water and lemon. These ingredients are combined, heated and reduced to form a thick amber paste. Once cooled the sugar paste is warmed in sugar warmers to prepare the paste for application. The sugar is applied to the skin in the opposite direction of hair growth and the sugar/hair is removed in the same direction of hair growth.

+ WHY IS SUGARING BETTER THAN WAXING?

Organic Ingredients
Sugar paste consists of completely organic ingredients, and is actually safe enough to eat! Wax is petroleum based.

Low Tempurature Application
Sugar paste is applied close to body temperature so there is no risk of burning the client’s skin. Wax is heated to a higher temperature which increases risk of burn, scarring and breakdown of epidermal tissues.

Less Traumatic on Skin
Sugar paste is water based and cannot adhere to live skin cells. It only removes the upper, dead skin cells. Because of this sugar is gentle enough to go over areas multiple times without causing skin irritation. Wax can adhere to live skin cells which makes hair removal more irritating and dangerous and can potentially lift the skin.

Easier Clean Up
Sugar is water soluble and can be removed with just H2O. Wax, because it is petroleum based, is almost impossible to remove from surfaces, clothes and the client’s skin.

Less Breakage
Sugar paste molds around the hair shaft and penetrates below the follicle opening. The hair is then pulled in the same, natural direction of growth, resulting in a smooth extraction. Wax hardens around the hair and pulls in the opposite direction of hair growth resulting in breakage.

Extraction of Shorter Hair
Sugar paste seeps below the follicle opening so it can grab hair as short as 1/16. Hair needs to be at least 1/4” for wax to adhere to.

Sanitary
Sugar, believe it or not, is a natural anti-bacterial substance. Since sugar paste contains high levels of sugar, bacteria cannot breed or live within it. Wax has no anti-bacterial properties so bacteria can easily breed within a wax jar.

Permanent Results
Sugar paste extracts the hair in its early stages of regrowth so hair grows in finer. Frequent sugaring can also lead to permanent hair loss.

+ ARE THERE ANY CONTRADICITIONS

Anyone showing signs of redness, rashing, open and or abraded skin, an active lesion of Herpes Simplex I or II, sunburn (either from sun or tanning bed)psoriasis or eczema (in area to be sugared) cannot receive sugaring services.

Anyone using or currently have been using within the past 5 days the following medications: Accutane, Retin A, Renova, Differin or Avita cannot receive waxing services.

Anyone having just receive a microdermabrasian or an acid peel cannot be sugared in the area that has been treated.

Regarding Herpes simplex I or II. Anyone with a history of Herpes I or II has been advised that sugaring service may cause and outbreak to resurface.

+ WILL MY SUGARING SESSION BE PAINFUL?

Sugaring does pull hair directly from the root which will result in some discomfort. Different stages of your menstural cycle can also make sugaring more or less comfortable. If you come in frequently, not only will less hair grow but it will also become more comfortable with each session.

+ SUGARING AFTERCARE

Keeping your skin calm, clean, and protected after your sugaring service helps prevent irritation and supports smoother, finer regrowth over time. These guidelines are designed to keep your skin happy and ensure the best long‑term results.

First 24 Hours • Avoid lotions, oils, deodorant, or any heavy products on the treated area • Avoid heat exposure (direct sunlight, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms) • Avoid chlorine and salt water • Avoid the gym, sweating, friction, tight clothing, or any activity that creates heat or rubbing • Avoid touching the area to prevent bacteria transfer

After 48 Hours • Begin gentle exfoliation 2–3 times per week (coffee scrub, sugar scrub, or a soft exfoliating mitt) • Keep the area hydrated daily with a clean, fragrance‑free moisturizer • Continue regular exfoliation to help prevent ingrown hairs and keep the skin smooth

Ongoing Care • Stay consistent with moisturizing to support soft, healthy skin • Avoid shaving between appointments to maintain refined regrowth • Rebook every 3–5 weeks for the best hair‑refining results and a more comfortable service over time • If you’re prone to ingrowns, use a gentle ingrown serum starting 48 hours after your service. Ask your Esthetician what they recommend, and we will be happy to show you. • If you experience redness or sensitivity, apply a cool compress and keep the area product‑free for the rest of the day • If you notice any unusual irritation, avoid exfoliating until the skin calms

We hope you enjoy your service and feel silky smooth!
